Australian Dance Awards 2016 Ochre Contemporary Dance Company performing outdoors

Perth is ready to host the 2016 Australian Dance Awards straight after the MoveMe Dance Festival—put Sunday 18 September at The State Theatre Centre of Western Australia in your diary! Tickets on sale at Ticketek

This night-of-nights for professional dance sees twelve Awards including the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, Outstanding Performance by a Company, and Outstanding Performances by Female and Male dancers.

The Australian Dance Awards are the annual night-of-nights for Australia’s professional dancers, dance companies, dance teachers and people who work for dance. The shortlist for the hotly-contested Awards features dancers and choreographers from major Australian dance companies including Bangarra Dance Theatre, The Australian Ballet, Force Majeure, the West Australian Ballet, Lucy Guerin Inc and Sydney Dance Company. Dance filmmakers and musicals, youth dance, and community are well-represented in the shortlist as they vie for that elusive trophy.

The night is a celebration of the best in Australian dance with a performance showcase featuring West Australian Ballet, Force Majeure, Co3, Strut, Ochre Contemporary Dance Company, Lucy Guerin Inc and Tasdance. The night will include the awarding of the Keith Bain Choreographic Travel Fellowship.
