Ausdance
Queensland

Ausdance Queensland is the dance service organisation funded by
Arts Queensland to support dance throughout the State. This means
help can be on its way from Thursday Island to Charleville or Mt
Isa to Moura. Membership is open to everyone interested in dance
and is offered on an annual basis with three financial levels: individual,
concession and organisation. The branch has over 400 members and
a board elected annually by the membership.
The organisation has recently moved to new premises within the Judith
Wright Centre of Contemporary Art—in the heart of the Fortitude
Valley cultural precinct. The new location incorporates the organisation’s
administration centre, reference library and the Bell Tower Choreographic
Workshop—an access studio space dedicated to the development and
exploration of emerging choreographic practices.

Australian Dance Week 2008
Sunday 4 – Saturday 10 May
Australian Dance Week is a national celebration of Dance in all its forms and all its contexts. Each year Ausdance offices throughout the country help to develop and co-ordinate a program of activities as diverse as the artform, itself. The program facilitated by Ausdance Queensland for 2008 maintains the momentum of past years and builds upon some exciting events featuring some exciting artists from within our local dance community.
The 2008 program is comprised of workshops and classes, performances and special events across the State. For more details download the Queensland Dance Week Program (187 Kb PDF file) or call Ausdance Queensland on 3852 3655.

Dance Made In Queensland
Dance Made In Queensland (DMIQ) is a marketing initiative instigated by Arts Queensland and facilitated by Ausdance Queensland. DMIQ is designed to profile and promote tour-ready dance product that has been created in Queensland. Currently, the cyber-document provides details of fifteen companies and independent artists who have tried and tested product available for presentation. Each listing provides an overview of the artist/company, an overview of the product, reviews and sample media releases, promotional video shorts and a selection of images. To view the DPK, go to www.dancemadeinqld.com.au
Not only does this initiative provide an excellent marketing accessory, it functions as a great educational tool, providing an information resource for the class-room teacher that examines current choreographic trends in the State of Queensland.
