The ABC TV program Art Nation (Sundays at 5pm) will go, and Radio National’s Artworks and Artworks Feature programs on Sunday mornings will also go. The Book Show will become something called Arts and Books, which probably won’t be profiling dance! As The Australian says (5 September 2011):
Without Art Nation on ABC TV and Artworks on Radio National, the broadcaster will not have any programs directly covering the arts, despite arts coverage being a key plank of the ABC Charter.
We can’t afford to lose this profile from such an authoritative voice and we want reassurance that these programs will not be axed. Now is the time to act, while ABC management is still finalising its plans for 2012.
Let the ABC to know you care about losing such significant dance coverage, especially at a time when a National Cultural Policy is being developed.

I am furious to hear that so many of our Arts Programs will be axed by ABC RN.
With these programs disappearing I wonder what will be left.
I am incensed also that the Book Program will be changed so radically. And I have to say that I really miss Romona Koval - her excellent skill at intervew, her humour, intelligence and the energy she put into her programs. Please bring her back. I have no quarrell with any of the presenters who filled in on the program during the past months not have I any quarrell with Michael Cathgart but Ramona’s vitality was something quite unique. I am very disappointed
An explanation would be welcome.
