Shona Dunlop MacTavish is a dancer, teacher, choreographer, critic, author, and pioneer in liturgical dance in the Asia Pacific. She is a key figure in the establishment of modern dance in Australia and New Zealand. Born in Dunedin in 1920, Shona studied at the Vienna State Academy for Music and Dramatic Art under eminent Ausdruckstanz choreographer Gertrud Bodenwieser.
