Advocacy
Ausdance VIC offers high-level strategic advice and vision for the dance sector. We advocate on behalf of the dance industry to raise the profile of dance and increase investment in the arts. We also represent the dance sector as part of the Arts Industry Council of Victoria. Find out more.
Education
We provide a range of options to people looking to further their dance practice. As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 20949), Ausdance VIC provides accredited VET training, and we sit on state and national industry-training advisory boards tasked with oversight of professional dance development, courses and accreditation. Related Projects
The 2017 National Dance Forum brought together makers, producers and presenters to discuss and share knowledge on current digital practices and technological developments. The two-day forum focused on strengthening the dance sector’s capacity within the digital domain. It engaged artists in developing and sharing skills in this environment.
The fourth National Dance Forum (NDF2017) took place from 25–26 September 2017 at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Victoria.
The Australian Youth Dance Festival provides creative development opportunities for young people at all skills levels. They work with some of the finest and most exciting dance makers in Australia. The experience provides professional dance artists with creative challenges, professional development and opportunities to work alongside their peers and with Australia's rising youth dance talent. Participants include school students, youth dance company members, full-time dance students and relative beginners in dance, as well as dance teachers, choreographers and youth dance leaders.
The 2013 Dance Education in Australian Schools (DEAS) roundtable focused on ‘best practice’ for dance in the classroom and how to engage with professional dance companies offering dance education programs.
