Ausdance WA

Ausdance WA provides leadership, support and advocacy for all forms of dance in Western Australia. Through our membership program and annual initiatives, we aim to inspire, produce, educate and support dance as part of the every day in WA. 

We manage three beautifully appointed studios available for hire, a library of physical dance resources available for borrowing by members and an online directory of dance classes, teachers and services. Quarterly, Ausdance WA produces Dancewest magazine for members. Find out more on our Ausdance WA website.


Whether you are a watcher or a maker of contemporary dance, MoveMe is for you. Born out of the Department of Culture and the Arts Future Landings initiative, MoveMe is Ausdance WA’s platform for bringing more contemporary dance to more people by bringing audiences to performers. It acts as a one-stop-shop for professional contemporary dance performance in Western Australia. Find out more at

Future Landings

Future Landings is a biannual production arm of the Regional Program. Ausdance WA commissions and oversees the delivery of contemporary dance performances in three regional towns/centres. These productions are created by and for the community they are delivered in, and as such belong to these communities. Find out more at

Professional development and education

Ausdance WA also provides opportunities for continued professional development in education, offering the Ausdance skill set for Teaching Dance, annual Set Solo workshops in support of the WACE curriculum, a comprehensive library and teaching resources. West Australian Dance Awards

Since 2005, Ausdance WA has celebrated the individuals making our state dance sector flourish by hosting the annual West Australian Dance Awards. Nominations are open to the public, with the short list and winners selected by a judging panel of long-term industry professionals. Find out more about the WA Dance Awards.

Act-Belong-Commit Dance 100

In 2014, Ausdance WA introduced the Act-Belong-Commit Dance 100: providing 100 free opportunities to dance throughout Western Australia. The Act-Belong-Commit Dance 100 will continue in 2015 seeing projects such as Act Belong Commit Dance Live (a large scale public dance showcase), Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough (two lunch-time disco events in the CBD), Monkeyfunk (a series of new workshops for young children and parents) and Dance in Country Week (a week of dance workshops for regional high school students). Australian Youth Dance Festival View this project

The Australian Youth Dance Festival provides creative development opportunities for young people at all skills levels. They work with some of the finest and most exciting dance makers in Australia. The experience provides professional dance artists with creative challenges, professional development and opportunities to work alongside their peers and with Australia's rising youth dance talent. Participants include school students, youth dance company members, full-time dance students and relative beginners in dance, as well as dance teachers, choreographers and youth dance leaders.
